Wichita Falls Hosts ATA's Superchamp 12s and 14s
While ATA’s older athletes traveled to College Station, the 12s and 14s went to Wichita Falls for the Echometer Super Champ Major Zone. Coach Newman and Coach Kendall traveled with the team.
Connor Curry competed his way to the semifinals of the boys’ 14s draw, logging four wins along the way. In the quarterfinals he defeated Grayson Broadus 7-6(3), 6-1.
Matthew Milliken took down Jack Learmonth 6-3, 6-1 to reach the quarterfinals. Breck Spencer and Ben Smith gained valuable experience in the 14s in two matches each through the weekend.
In the boys’ 12s draw, Jake Berber bounced back from an opening round loss to beat Abhishek Gumani 6-3, 6-1. Erik Kerrigan competed hard in two matches through the tournament.
Allie Burak won her first round match in the girls 14s over Jenna Reisler, 7-5, 6-2. Sydney Young defeated Domonique Garley 6-3, 6-1 to advance to the round of 16. After falling in her first round match, Maggie O’Meara rebounded to beat Shruthi Pranhu 6-2, 6-4 to reach the consolation quarterfinals. Carli Knezevich fought hard in two tough matches through the weekend.
