All Day Beginner Summer Camp 2009

Trips to the Austin ZOO and the Zilker Park Nature museum might seem out of the ordinary for a tennis camp itinerary. But then again, the Austin Tennis Academy is rarely accused of being ordinary.

This summer marked the commencement of an all day camp for beginner tennis players. The camp featured on court development from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Then following a leisurely lunch break, Coach Norm Houston accompanied the group on a field trip to one of Austin's many attractions. Along with the Austin Zoo and Zilker Park, the group spent afternoons swimming at Hamilton Pool, and Barton Springs pool as well as some fabulous local country clubs. Other activities included laser tag at Blazer Tag, and games at Dave and Busters.

Coach Houston kept his group busy and active throughout the summer, with everything from educational trips to the Austin Zoo, to a relaxing afternoon out of the sun at the movie theatre. The first annual all day camp for beginners was a big hit. Look for it to fill up quickly next summer. Sign up ONLINE early!
