Austin Tennis Academy announces filled to capacity Academy program for 2009-2010
Founding Coach Doug Davis named ATA Head Coach and commits to full time academy schedule.
The Austin Tennis Academy is proud to announce that we have reached our target number of 60 players for 2009-2010 in our full-time Academy program and are now establishing a waiting list. The Academy program is the flagship of the ATA's tennis programs. The fall Academy program will have 40 superchamp and 20 champ level players. 26 of the returning players were eligible for or competed in a L1 or L2 USTA National tournament during the summer tournament season.
The ATA is a certified Regional USTA training center offering programs from QuickStart through training for national level competitors with the goal of maximizing college admission choices for Academy students. There is still room in ATA's Junior Academy, Junior Development and QuickStart programs for the Fall season.
Founding ATA Coach Doug Davis has been named Head Coach for the Academy program, joining USPTA Master Professional Jack Newman and the stellar ATA coaching staff at practice each day. Coach Davis has spent the past few years working intensively with individual players and helping with practice as his busy schedule has permitted.
"Coach Davis is one of the finest junior developers in the United States, we are very fortunate to be able to have him at practice each day this year" said ATA's CEO Jack Newman. Coach Davis is one of the premier junior development coaches in the United States. Coach Davis will head an all star staff of coaches working with Academy players this Fall. He will also work with Coach Newman to further develop the ATA curriculum in the areas of Technical, Strategic, Physical and Mental training elements.
