ITA Summer Circuit at Collin County Community College

The ITA Summer Circuit consists of four consecutive tournaments through the month of July, culminating with the ITA National Summer Championships in Bloomington, Indiana. Designed to offer a competitive opportunity for collegiate players through the summer off-season, the now ‘open’ tournaments have drawn over 22,000 men and women since their inception in ’93.

This past weekend, many ATA junior athletes traveled to Plano, TX to compete in the Collin County Community College ITA.

Abby Lewis won five straight matches after dropping her first, to claim the consolation championship. She took down Taylor Schreimann 6-1, 6-2 in the semi finals, and beat J. Bell 6-3, 6-1 in the finals. Claire Cahill defeated Rebecca Everett 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of consolation. Kate Cahill fell in two tight matches through the tournament.

John Stockdale won his opening round match over Bryson Carter 6-1, 6-0. Donny Hackett went down in his second match to the number eight seed, Alexandre Faust from New Orleans, 6-3, 6-2. Ryan Burak fell to G. Ybarra 6-3, 6-2 in his first round match.

Look for these athletes to continue competing through the summer months in next weekends College Station ITA and this weekends Spenco Open.
