ATA Athletes Recognized at CATA's Annual Junior Banquet

Congrats to Josh Hagar, Jeffrey Offerdahl and Morgan Barnhill. All three will be receiving awards for their accomplishments in 2008 at the annual CATA Junior Banquet. Offerdahl and Barnhill will be receiving the ATA Junior Team Tennis MVP Award while Hagar will receive the prestigious city wide CATA Male Junior Player of the Year award.

All three players helped lead their respective ATA Junior Team Tennis teams to nationals last year with Jeffrey's 18 & Under team finishing 3rd in the country and Josh and Morgan's 14 & Under team finishing 2nd in the U.S. Josh's Player of the Year award is in recognition of his on and off court accomplishments in 2008. Josh had a stellar year on the court, reaching #4 in Texas in the B14's and a national ranking #67. He finished 4th in singles and reached the semi finals of the doubles at the Summer Grand Slam also collecting the tournament's sportsmanship award. Perhaps, more impressively, Josh has led the Playing for Glimmer campaign, which has galvanized the entire ATA community to give back of their time, effort and money in raising $150,000 in 2008 to benefit water, education and health projects in rural Ethiopia.

Congratulations to all three of ATA's award winners. Please come support them at the banquet on Sunday, April 26th at the Crowne Plaza hotel off of I35 and 290. Click here to reserve you seats!
