Ashley Weinhold Advances to Second Round at US Open Qualifier
The Austin Tennis Academy's Ashley Weinhold advanced to the 2nd round of qualifying yesterday at the US OPEN Tennis Championships. Ashley defeated Heather O'Brien currently ranked 232 on the WTA computer. Her score was 5-7, 7-5, 6-3. Ashley was down two match points in the 2nd set before coming back to win in three sets.
With yesterday's win, Ashley Weinhold improves her Women's Professional ranking from 571 to 432 with one match.

UPDATE: Ashley wins her second round match against Luxembourg's Anne Kremer 3-6, 7-5, 7-6. Before the match Kremer was ranked 142 on the WTA computer, but has been ranked as high as 18 in the world.
