ATA Welcomes Ryan Simme as Director of Coaching
The Austin Tennis Academy is very pleased to announce the hiring of Ryan Simme as Director of Coaching. Ryan begins his tenure at ATA May 11, 2006. Coach Jack Newman ’s title will now be Head Coach / C.E.O.
As a junior tennis player in Texas, Ryan was one of the best Texas produced. He was ranked as high as #1 in Texas as a junior player and #4 in the country in Boys 18s.
Ryan played his college tennis at the University of Notre Dame. As a 4 year letterman, a 2 time All-American and a 2-year Team Captain, he led the Notre Dame team to 4 consecutive appearances in the NCAA Championship Team tournament.
As a teaching professional, Ryan has gained valuable experience in both junior development and club membership skills. Most recently he was Director of Tennis at River Place Country Club here in Austin. Prior to that he was Director of Tennis at Wildflower Tennis Club in Temple and prior to that he was Head Tennis Professional at Austin Country Club.
Ryan brings a youthful enthusiasm to our program along with a wealth of playing and coaching experience. He fits the profile of coaches that we are looking for to meet and exceed our decade long plan for developing the Austin Tennis Academy into the premier local tennis program in the United States.
