Ashley Weinhold Leads USA to First Victory at Junior Fed Cup in Spain
Austin Tennis Academy's Ashley Weinhold clinched the deciding doubles match yesterday in Barcelona, leading team USA to their first victory in this tournament. (Score: 2-6,6-6,6-2) Ashley was partnered with Julia Cohen. Team Coach Wade McGuire said about Ashley:
She was on fire!!The 16 country teams are divided into groups of four. USA takes on Hong Kong and then France.

It was amazing! We were down a set and 0-3 and it wasn´t looking very pretty. Somehow managed to battle back and I caught fire, as Wade would say. I was poaching left and right and practically diving for volleys. I stepped my game up a level or two and Julia did the same. We played awesome at the end of the second and continued through the third. I was serving huge and knifing volleys. It was such an exciting match and we got sooo pumped up and our energy was very high.Way to go, Ashley!
