September Texas Excellence Results

The Austin Tennis Academy players travelled to Richardson, Texas for the Texas Excellence. The Excellence is for the top 16 players in Texas. 12 main draw slots are awarded based on ranking: Blake Davis, Hillary Davis, Rachel Knight, Conor O'Rourke and Sierra Sullivan were awarded main draw slots. There is also a 16 draw qualifying event, players must win two matches to qualify to the main draw. Millie Nichols, Daven Brodess, Emily Pietruszynski, Dionicia Akina and Austin Mayo were awarded qualifying slots. Emily, Dio and Austin all won a match in the qualifying. Millie and Daven won two rounds in the qualifying to get main draw slots.

Not only did they qualify, but both Daven and Millie went on to win 3rd place in the Boys and Girls 16s age divisions. Both Daven and Millie went 5-1 for the weekend. Blake Davis got ill, played anyways, won his first round, lost his second and then had to withdraw from the tournament. Hillary Davis went 3-1, Connor O'Rourke and Rachel Knight went 1-3, Sierra Sullivan went 2-2 in her first excellence event.
