Notre Dame and Penn State Award Division 1 Scholarships to ATA Players!

November 11, 2004--Austin Tennis Academy Seniors Adam Slagter and Santiago Montoya signed letters of intent to accept NCAA Division 1 Scholarships in a signing ceremony at the Austin Tennis Academy. The event was attended by Academy and JD players and parents in rousing and moving ceremony hosted by Coaches Jack Newman and Eric Schmidhauser.

Adam will attend Penn State University and bring his left-handed, attacking style to the strong, Big 10 conference.

Santiago Montoya will attend Notre Dame University a bring his strong play, infectious enthusiasm, and incredible work ethic to the Notre Dame tennis team.

Managing Director and leader of the Austin Tennis Academy college placement process, Eric Schmidhauser, expressed it best when he stated, "This is, by far, the most exciting and rewarding thing we do at the Austin Tennis Academy!" Added Coach Newman, "It is one of our finest moments when we can inspire and thrill our current students, especially the younger ones, with goals like Division 1 college scholarships. The ATA players who saw this ceremony will long remember it and dream at night of being the one up in front of the camera, signing their papers."
