Proud Of Our Alumni!

Just wanted to give you a little update on what's going on with ATA's little horned frog! Our spring season has started off with a bang. We are currently 7-1 and ranked 17. As of right now, I am playing singles at line four and my doubles partner and I have only played twice, once at line 3 and once at line2. But I have come to realize that no matter what line you play, each match is equally important. The team experience that I have had so far has been unbelievable. The men's and women's team are very close and it just reminds me of the family atmosphere of ATA. It's awesome to think that I have only started this new adventure!

School is about to get rough though. We are going to miss two weeks of classes starting tomorrow due to tennis matches in Indiana, Ohio and California. Coach Newman, I'm so glad that you made us stay on top of our school work when we went out of town for a tourn. You really prepared me for what to do when I miss class here. I have noticed from the fall and a little from this semester that teachers expect you to let them know when you are going out of town and to meet with them personally as soon as you get back. They don't cut you any slack just because you are an athlete. Luckily, I havent run into any problems with missing school.

The biggest thing that I have learned so far this year is time management. I spent my entire first semester trying to adjust to this new life and now I feel that I can actually take a deep breath and slow down a little. I have organized my schedule to where I am done with class by 11:00, then I have practice and weights in the afternoon, which leaves me the entire night to study, do homework or whatever I need to do.

I have a musical theatre paper I have to finish by Wednesday (yes, one of my classes is survey of musical theatre, don't ask me why I'm taking it, I just have to), hope the email didnt bore you too much.

Miss you and ATA a ton and hopefully I will get to see you some over Spring Break.
