Coach Lucie and Coach Norm led a group of ATA athletes at the Belton ZAT this past weekend. Coach Newman, Coach Strecker and Coach Brandon traveled to Waco for the 16s 18s super champ major zone, while Coach John watched the 12s and 14s in Austin. Many super champ players are still competing on day three of the tournaments, but there are some noteworthy results from Belton.

Congratulations to Sreyas Mahadevan for winning the Belton ZAT and qualifying for champs!

"Sreyas battled hard to champ qualify, beating Nathan in the finals in a high-quality match," Coach Lucie said.

Congratulations to Nathan Do who met Sreyas in an all ATA final round, and also qualified for the champ division!

"Nathan played solid tennis all weekend, focusing on playing aggressive," Coach Lucie said.

Congratulations to Kristen Mele for winning her draw in Belton and qualifying up to the champ division!

"Kristen has been working hard all summer and her efforts paid off. She patiently worked the points, dismantling her opponents on the way to winning her draw," Coach Lucie said.

All of the ATA junior athletes in Belton competed well, and we look for them to continue making strides in the coming months. Check back for highlights from the tournaments in Waco and Austin.
