Ashley Starts Tournament #4 in Spain
Hi again,
I can't believe it's already December! I got my best nights sleep thus far this trip so I was very happy about that this morning. After I had breakfast I headed over to the club with the tournament transportation. Now they have 2 different shuttle times to choose from now that the main draw has started which is nice even though they're only 1-2hrs apart. I practiced for an hour or so with a girl from Poland and played out points with two other girls who were sharing our court. Then I had lunch at the club cafe...all lunches here are like 4 courses long so you get plenty of food which is certainly fine by me. Soon after lunch the tournament director told us that one of our doubles opponents said she got injured in her singles match earlier in the day. Therefore we got a walkover and didn't have to play a doubles match today. We'll just pretend it was an intimidation factor ha just kidding. Since we weren't playing doubles I decided to get another practice in with some point play and some serve drills plus a little fitness. I got done in time to take the earliest bus back to the hotel which was at 4. When I got back I walked around the town along the beach and picked up a few things at the supermarket. I went to dinner at the hotel with a couple of the girls and just hung out the rest of the evening.
I just saw the schedule for tomorrow and I'm the last match on which is 4th up after 10am...the singles match before me is not before 2:30 so I'll probably go on between 4 & 5pm. The latest bus that leaves in the morning is 9:30am so I need to be smart planning out my day with practices, eating, etc. I'm looking forward to playing well in my singles match tomorrow and will bring out the same intensity level that I had in doubles last week. I better get some rest. I'll give you the report after my match tomorrow. Cya!
