Ashley Continues Play in Benicarlo, Spain

Hi!

My apologies for not writing yesterday...the internet wasn't working at the hotel last night when I got back from the courts. Anyways, this will be a quick update because I have to go warm up for my match soon. I won my singles yesterday 6-3, 6-4. I played average, my opponent liked to hit the ball as hard as she could so I had to use my defensive skills at times. I tried really hard to stay focused and play in the moment. All in all I was happy to get the win. As far as our doubles goes, we lost 3-6, 6-7(5). I thought I played pretty well and did everything that I could to put us in a position to win, but unfortunately it didn't turn out in our favor. In the future it would be nice to travel with another player around to tournaments who I can play doubles with consistently and have as a practice partner. Today I play the #1 seed, Pioppo from Italy. I'm going to do my best to play in the moment and have a high energy level. I better go prepare for my match now.
