Four ATA Junior Athletes Qualify for Little Mo Nationals
Four Austin Tennis Academy junior athletes qualified for Little Mo Nationals this past weekend with strong performances at Little Mo Regional’s.
Ela Raczka in 9s, Tyler Anson in 11s, Harrison Chiu in 10s and Jesse Wikso in 11s each finished in the top 4 in the region in their division to qualify for the national tournament. Ela, Tyler and Harrison finished 2nd, and Jesse finished 3rd.
These fantastic four young athletes will compete against the best tennis players in their respective age divisions from across the country this coming October. Conveniently, Little Mo Nationals will be held right here at Austin Tennis Academy on October 15-17.
Coach Davis, who along with Lucie Schmidhauser and John Schoenmakers coached the players at Regional’s, commented on how this past weekend serves as a sign of what is to come.
“Rarely if ever are significant trends in any endeavor recognized as they initiate - ATA little Mo Regional’s!!” Coach Davis said.

This past weekend’s success is a commendation of the focus ATA has put on foundations in developing junior tennis players. Austin Tennis Academy was one of the first program proponents of the QuickStart tennis model, which utilizes the right size and type of equipment for smaller and younger players.
“The job Coach John Schoenmakers has done with young QuickStart players has led to a great foundation as those players start competing at a serious level,” Coach Jack Newman said. “The qualifying of 4 ATA students to the prestigious Little Mo Nationals is a testament to the system those players came through."
Come out and support Ela, Tyler, Harrison and Jesse at National’s at ATA on October 15-17!
