ATA Summer Camps 2011 - Week 1 - Week 3
Austin Tennis Academy Summer Camps are well underway! Now into Week 4, the summer of 2011 has been one for the records. In week 2, the Morning Camp set a record high for number of campers. Week 4 broke that record on its first day.

The purpose of summer camps at ATA is to offer children the opportunity to progress in all areas of the game at a rapid rate, all while having a lot of fun. Each camp is designed to provide the greatest foundation and development for each student in all parts of the game: physical, mental, technical and tactical.

The camps begin each day with a physical warm up. The students are then put into groups based on level. The groups rotate through four or five different stations for a set amount of time. The stations include things like technical work, point play, serving and a fitness station indoors. Then the last fifteen minutes of morning camp is designated for games.

On Friday’s, the group puts all of the weeks work into a fun team-oriented competition, modeled after Davis Cup. The campers are split into two teams, and matches are tallied as a whole to determine the winning side, the members of which receive medals. After Davis Cup play, each camper is given a packet containing an evaluation, and the coaches do an award ceremony to recognize the strengths of all the campers.

The week finishes with a water balloon fight on the lawn, and then pizza for lunch. There are 6 weeks of camp to go, so secure your spot now! Click here for more info!
