ATA Featured In USTA 10 and Under Video

Austin Tennis Academy prides itself on being at the forefront of 10 and under tennis training. The Academy was amongst the first to adopt the QuickStart model and equipment, and Coach John Schoenmakers executes a proven curriculum to provide the proper foundations to all students in our QuickStart program.

ATA CEO Jack Newman ensures that the entire ATA staff is on top of the latest methods in 10 and under development. In April, Newman brought in a world expert in 10 and under training, Anne Pankhurst, for a two-day training seminar with the coaching staff (see April 25 article).

Recently, as part of the USTA Texas Section’s 10 and Under Tuesday’s series, one of ATA’s QuickStart tournaments was featured in a video presentation – see link below. The video shows ATA QuickStart coaches John Schoenmakers and Norm Houston as they guide many 10 and Under athletes through some fun competition, as well as an interview with ATA student, Gonzalo.

Coach Brian Notis, tournament director, commented on the bright future for ATA.

“It's really exciting for the coaching staff at ATA to be leading the way in Texas in 10 & Under tennis both with our well established Quick Start curriculum and our many Quick Start tournaments. Clearly the future of ATA is bright with players like Gonzalo learning the fundamentals and loving the game!  ATA hosts a 2 hour Quick Start tournament every other month in conjunction with our Spenco Opens.  The next one will be Friday, September 16th from 5:00-7:00pm.”
