ATA Coaches and Players Volunteer at Set2Serve
Set 2 Serve’s 2012 M.L.K. Jr. Tennis Day took place yesterday at the Austin Tennis Center and was a huge success! Set 2 Serve's founder and director, Kevin Clark, did a fantastic job of setting up and running the event.
The annual event gives children from the Boys and Girls Club of Austin a chance to get introduced to and play tennis! Over 100 kids from all over Austin came out for the event. For many of the children, this was their first opportunity to play tennis. To introduce such an amazing game to the kids, and see them have such a great time doing it, was so enjoyable to see.

This event would not have ever materialized, much less been so successful, without the incredible work of Kevin Clark and his passion for helping children. He organized the entire event, raised money, helped find racquets and balls to get donated for the event, organized coaches and players from around Austin to come out and volunteer, just an amazing job! Set 2 Serve runs programs and events throughout the year, everybody should check out their website: http://www.set2serve.net/ and get involved!
A huge thanks goes out to all the parents and the players of the Austin Tennis Academy who volunteered their time and their equipment to the event! A big thanks to Rachel O'Malley who helped drive kids over to the Austin Tennis Center. To all the kids who came out and volunteered: Megan O'Malley, Molly Fischer, Loli Perim, Hannah Harrod, Caleb Rightmer, Owen and Pearce Strickland, Jordan and Jonathan Breaux, Elena Seifert, Jesse Wikso, Keaton Qualls, Jay Spiers, Payton Holden, Spencer and Abigail Chiu, and Coach Ty, HUGE thanks!!!

Everybody did a great job the entire time we were there. They were engaged and helped kids learn how to play tennis, and of course have fun doing so. We all left the Austin Tennis Center feeling great about what we had helped with, and we are all looking forward to our next opportunity to help again!
